Dah-vidhad tok en tur på Grand Hotell og har snakket litt med MOD-Frech :
Hello MOD-Frech, and thanks for taking time to do this interview! First of all, Frech, where does that name come from? And who is MOD-Frech in real life?
Well. Mod comes from being a Moderador… so, not much explanation there. Frech is my last name, it comes from Palestine and it’s became my nickname in real life.
I’m 22 years old, studying a major in IT Management. Actually more of a baseball fan than a football fan.
For how long have you been a MOD?
I started in May 10, 2005. So that makes it more than two years and a half.
This is your first period as manager for Mexico U20. How are you doing?
Yes. This is my first, period as a manager for any U20/NT team, and it’s going pretty well. Although, I have to admit the pressure is huge. Following Morelos’ act is tough (silver medal). But I’m confident that when the journey is over, people in Mexico will see this period as a good one.
How do you get enough time for your own team, the MOD-job and U20 ?
It’s hard. You have to find the balance beteween all three. For the Mod-job and the U20 I have solid teams that can back me up at any given time. Still, I don’t leave these responsabilities alone. I try to keep up a schedule and follow it to be able to do all these things, and have time for “offline” staff.
Mexico is in second place in the group. There is 3 points down to Norway, and the match against us will be a kind of "key-match". What are your thoughts on the match?
Norway has always been a great team in Hattrick. On the other hand, Wales has been surprisingly good, and Mexico has the moral obligation because of last WC. I see the matchups against Norway and Wales as the keys.
Will you risk a PIC against us? Would you break a PIC-agreement? Or take such a deal in the first place?
Well. First of all I have to make it clear that any PIC-agreement in the NT/U20 system is forbidden and can bring you big problems. So I’ll answer for my own team. No. I would never break a PIC-agreement, even if it meant my team losing the championship or relegation. And yes, I would take a deal for my own team, but never for the U20. I could never risk the team like that.
What is your favorite tactic and formation, and why?
It’s hard to answer. In Hattrick you are pretty much bound with 3-5-2 most of the time, so there’s not much moving there. I also use 3-4-3 in my team beacause I train forwards. I really don’t have a favourite formation for Hattrick. It depends on what the opposition brings. Same thing applies for tactics, it all depends on what you see from the other team.
Which team do you think will advance from your group?
I’m just gonna stick with Mexico. (laughs)
Who do you think will win the U20 World Cup?
I sure hope Mexico goes all the way. If not, I’d like to see a Latin American team winning it. Argentina has the biggest chances for a Latin American team in my opinion.
What is your favorite team in RL, and why?
As I said before, I’m more of a baseball fan than a football fan. I like the Atlanta Braves and the Monterrey Sultans.
In football, I like Santos Laguna in Mexico and Barcelona in Europe.
Something else you wish to tell the community in Norway?
I’d like to wish you all the best of luck in this WC. I hope we have a good qualification and that no players get injured.
Vi får satse på at han blander litt baseball med fotball ikveld, og setter opp en merkelig taktikk ;-)
